However, no website, internet transmission, email system, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Although we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted electronically.
Standard email and text messaging may not always be secure. Please use the secure patient portal for confidential clinical information whenever possible.

COOKIES AND WEBSITE TECHNOLOGIES
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to support website functions, remember preferences, understand website activity, and improve your online experience.
A cookie is a small data file placed on your device by a website. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your device. You may adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies; however, disabling cookies may affect certain website features.
Our website platform and approved third-party service providers may collect limited analytics information. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and applicable agreements.

THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, applications, or services that NurtureNest Psychiatry does not own or control.
This policy does not apply to information collected directly by those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information. NurtureNest Psychiatry is not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of third-party websites.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Our public website is intended primarily for adults and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child has submitted personal information through our website without appropriate authorization, please contact us. We will review the concern and take reasonable steps to remove the information when required.

PROVIDER-PATIENT RELATIONSHIP
Submitting a website form, sending an email, requesting an appointment, or communicating with NurtureNest Psychiatry does not automatically establish a provider-patient relationship.
A provider-patient relationship is established only after the required intake and consent process has been completed, the patient has been formally accepted into the practice, and an initial clinical appointment has occurred.
Submitting an appointment request does not guarantee acceptance into the practice or the prescribing of any medication.

CLINICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES

INITIAL APPOINTMENTS AND MEDICATIONS
The initial psychiatric evaluation is used to review your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, treatment needs, and appropriate care options.
NurtureNest Psychiatry is not required to prescribe medication during the first appointment. Medication decisions are based on the provider’s clinical judgment, safety considerations, diagnostic evaluation, applicable prescribing standards, and whether the requested treatment is appropriate.
We generally cannot refill medications originally prescribed by another provider without completing an appropriate evaluation and formally assuming responsibility for that medication.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES
Controlled medications are prescribed only when the treating provider determines that they are clinically appropriate, medically necessary, and consistent with safe prescribing standards.
NurtureNest Psychiatry may prescribe certain controlled medications on a limited, short-term basis for specific clinical circumstances, such as severe panic symptoms, situational phobias, or short-term sleep concerns.
We do not routinely prescribe benzodiazepines for frequent or long-term use. We do not prescribe opioid pain medications.
Receiving a previous controlled-substance prescription from another provider does not guarantee that NurtureNest Psychiatry will continue that medication. The provider may review prescription-monitoring information, medical records, pharmacy history, and other relevant information before making a prescribing decision.
Medication requests may be declined when the provider determines that the medication is unsafe, inappropriate, outside the scope of the practice, or inconsistent with the patient’s treatment plan.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
Medication needs should be discussed during scheduled appointments whenever possible. This allows us to review effectiveness, side effects, safety concerns, and whether the medication should be continued or adjusted.
For refill requests submitted between appointments:

  • Please allow up to five business days for processing.

  • Refills are not guaranteed and remain subject to clinical review.

  • Controlled medications may require an appointment before renewal.

  • Patients must have an active treatment relationship and an appropriate future appointment scheduled.

  • Some medications may require laboratory testing, monitoring, or an in-person evaluation.

  • Refill requests should be submitted through the secure patient portal or the method designated by the practice.

Please contact the practice before you run out of medication. Repeated urgent or early refill requests may require an appointment. Lost, stolen, or prematurely used controlled medications may not be replaced.

FMLA, DISABILITY, EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL, AND OTHER PAPERWORK
There may be circumstances in which a patient’s symptoms affect the ability to perform essential job, school, housing, or daily-life responsibilities. When clinically appropriate, documentation may be considered to support an established patient’s treatment needs.
NurtureNest Psychiatry does not complete FMLA, disability, emotional support animal, accommodation, or similar paperwork for new patients without an established therapeutic relationship and sufficient clinical information.

Patients requesting documentation must schedule an appointment to discuss:

  • Current symptoms and diagnoses

  • Specific functional limitations

  • Treatment history and response

  • The requested accommodation or period of leave

  • Whether the request is clinically supported

Please allow up to five business days after the required evaluation and receipt of all necessary forms. Completion is not guaranteed and depends on clinical findings, available documentation, and the provider’s professional judgment. Administrative fees may apply when permitted by law and will be disclosed before completion.

CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW POLICY
Each appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice before your scheduled appointment.
Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice and missed appointments may result in a $100 late-cancellation or no-show fee.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and may be treated as a missed appointment. Whether the session can continue will depend on the remaining appointment time and the provider’s clinical judgment.
Insurance companies generally do not reimburse late-cancellation or no-show fees. These fees are the patient’s responsibility and may be charged to the payment method on file when authorized.
Exceptions may be considered for genuine emergencies at the practice’s discretion.

TELEHEALTH SERVICES
NurtureNest Psychiatry provides virtual services to eligible patients physically located in Texas at the time of the appointment.
Patients are responsible for:

  • Providing their current physical location at each appointment

  • Maintaining access to a private and reasonably secure environment

  • Providing accurate emergency-contact information

  • Ensuring adequate internet and device access

  • Not participating in appointments while driving

Telehealth may not be appropriate for every clinical situation. The provider may recommend in-person care, emergency evaluation, hospitalization, or another level of care when clinically necessary.

EMERGENCIES
NurtureNest Psychiatry is an outpatient practice and does not provide emergency or crisis-response services. The website, email, voicemail, and patient portal are not monitored continuously.
If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency:

  • Call 911

  • Go to the nearest emergency department

  • Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

Do not use email, social media, website forms, or routine portal messages for urgent or life-threatening concerns.

NurtureNest Psychiatry may update these policies periodically to reflect changes in our services, technology, legal obligations, or clinical practices.
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised modification date. Continued use of our website or services after an update constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policies to the extent permitted by law.
